Frost in Richmond Park. I'd put my gloves and shoes on the radiator this morning though. So smug passing the guy riding no handed with his hands in his pockets.

Quite cold (2 degrees), woolly jumper is back on.
Got a nice waft of strawberry vaping liquid in the face from a passing motorist. Yum ;)

Amazed at how many cyclist cycling in and around Dartmoor yesterday weren't wearing gloves or winter tights it was bloody freezing and with the wind it was artic. Maybe I'm just a soft southern jessie, but they were making me feel cold and I had full winter walking gear on.

I can only find one of my winter gloves :-(

I live in Thornton Heath so I head up Norbury Hill in the mornings to arrive at the top of Knights and back up it again on t’way home. It’s a bugger.
@JurekB Going via St Reatham is too long and I bastard hate the High Rd, mad traffix so I just grit my teeth and get on with it.
I’ve ordered a Trek Conduit 2+, will give that a try and see if it helps

Indeed - I share your dislike of St Reatham High Road - It won the accolade of Britains Worst High Steet a few years ago.
My mum lives off Covington Way, so when I've done that nasty little kick-up where Covington Way joins Norbury Hill - the rest of Norbury Hill is a breeze :-) -

Sorry, for slagging off your road.
-
• #24940
Ignore them, they're just a couple of blow-ins.

Streathamite here. The High Road sucks, no two ways about it. Just horrid.
-

Car upside down and in lots of little bits on aldwych early this morning with debris spread over 100 ft radius. God knows what speed he was travelling when tried for take off
-
• #24943
Pardon my dodgy pic but I saw it too!

It’s grim. If I head that way into town I have to join it by Norbury station and stay on it all the way to Kennington. It’s all bad but the section through Streatham is horrific. Even worse in a car, btw.

• #24945
Soz, but I’m right.

S'funny - if you think that when I was a kid, Streatham High Rd was known as Little West End.
Ballroom, theatre, two cinemas, bowling alley, ice rink, no shortage of pubs and restaurants, live music in several of the pubs. There was also a branch of John Lewis.
More recently, it's the first place in the UK that had a McDonalds close down. -
• #24947
Surprised I’ve never seen either of you. Also just off Covington way.
I normally cut down the back of streatham/Tooting Bec to CS7 when I’m going into town (to avoid the high road).

BS
I drove past a boarded up McD's in Hull in circa 1999.
Hull. They have ner amenities!

I'm talking about Streatham High road branch closing down pre-2000 - probably '98 or '99.
Sorry - I still see ~ 2000 as recent - a sign of my age... -

It’s still not too bad in that respect, it’s just a nightmare to ride through. It seems to be a magnet for piss-poor drivers from all over the south London area
Must have had a tailwind
