It confused me at first. On the initial tutorial hunting thing I felt like I had to hold R2/RT for a pretty significant amount of time to get any distance on the shot, the more you hold it the more your stamina drains and Arthur gets a bit shakey and imprecise. Since then I've been drawing and firing the bow much more rapidly and you get better accuracy out of it, decent for nailing squirrels while on horseback.
Does firing a bow get easier?
Edit: got to say, I was impressed by the 'sim'-ness of it but fucking hell it's absurdly tough to control at times. Learning curve is nuts. That's what I like about Mount & Blade (and maybe in 20 years time, Bannerlord) - easy to play, hard to master.
