Nice one!
Frankfurt Marathon today: 2:42:49. Was on for 2:36/7 at halfway but it was bloody windy, and a few km after MsPub caught me at 30k - before finishing first woman off the mass start in 2:39 and seconds outside her pb - my dodgy hamstring started playing up. A gradual slowing turned into a hobble for the final mile. Not great, but when I crossed the line I immediately reflected that I'd run 2 mins quicker than Paris 10 years earlier. Privileged to be able to manage such times as a 46yo geezer. :)
Thanks! Conditions weren't great, in fact it felt like a trail run rather than a road race. The aim was to stay sub 6 minute miles all the way but then I got into a good group, which included Steph Twell, and stayed with it. She dropped me at about 10 miles but I managed to dig in an hold on for the sub 75 - VMLM championship qualifier - and a podium.
I'm ready for the next cross country race now. And a few celebratory beers.
