Ordered, thanks.

Interesting idea - didn't properly realise that replacement pads would be available. Have you got a source?

Just had a look,
Turning to the inside of the ear cups, we get a look at the ear cushions. These are covered with faux-leather and are not removable.
Which is disappointing, so no dice there unfortunately
-

They look removable to me!
Surely with a bit of knife and glue action I could make something work - I'd just need the measurement of replacement pads.

I'd maybe look at using something like 3m tape instead, but yeah you've definitely removed it :)
Normal headphones have a lip on the edge that a flap of fabric stretches over which makes them easy to replace, but I recon you should be fine now. Maybe see if you can free the plastic disc in the ear cup now and use that to fit a replacement around.
These are nice but a bit pricey. Obv. check what dimensions you need.

Just another big up for Shure 425s. I've had them for a while but I tend not to use them that much day to day as I find the isolation a bit too good when I'm working or driving and I'd be a bit concerned about damaging them if I wore them working (not that they're fragile but I've gone through a few pairs of earphones snagging the cable on things and then standing on them when working in a tight spot).
However, I've been using them a lot all this week on holidays and they really are very very good indeed! I'm still deciding which ear covers I find the most comfortable but the sound quality/ clarity is absolutely lovely and really nice balanced bass. Couldn't recommend them highly enough. -

i have mpow.
they are ok - although they dont fit strange ears, so im looking for aftershokz ! -

Colleagues have both recently purchased these and both a v good sub £100 options, just in case others are looking for over ear ANC & wireless

Audio Technica ATH-A550Z or Sennheiser HD 4.40 ?
Looking for something for work, wireless and noise cancelling would be nice but any I've tried around the ton mark are shite/no different to well sealed over ears anyway. Otherwise I might just stick with cheap and cheerful 50 quid Sony wired ones.

• #1711
The two I posted above both come recommended

I have the Sennheisers and I'm quite happy with them.
-
• #1713
yeah cheers i had a gander at them before I posted...
They're pretty similar price-wise to the Sennheisers and AT's though which are more of a known quantity and seem better specced. Battery life on the Sennheisers is about double, or the AT's have a 53mm driver instead of 30mm for example.
Never had wireless headphones so dunno if it's best sticking with good wired ones over cheapish wireless basically.

I went to try them earlier and the display model had run out of battery, then once charged wouldn't connect via bluetooth and sales assistant couldn't find the cable... A bit miffed as I wanted to hear how they sound and how well they blocked out noise. Are they as good as wired models or do you notice a difference if you use them with the audio cable plugged in?
-
• #1715
Actually I have the 4.50's,don't know what the difference is between them and the 4.40's.
I've not used them wired but apart from the usual audio hiccups when using Bluetooth they are good.
They block noise well as they are over-ear rather than on-ear. The noise cancelling is noticeable but just blocks the background noise i.e. traffic noise and the day to day hum of life.
Mine have a NFC connection built in and connection just meant holding the earphones to the back of the phone. Connected straight away and no problems since. The buttons take a while to remember which one does what and there is no obvious indication if noise cancelling is on but they remember the previous setting when they are powered off.

Wireless over ear or on ear headphones up to £200, go! Noise cancelling would be good.
-
• #1717
I realise that directly above my post is chat for exactly the headphones I want but within the £100 range, just wondering if there's more to be had by going up to £200. Budget can't stretch to QC35s sadly.

Thanks for everyone's help.
Fuck you buddy

Anybody here used the Jaybird True wireless Run head phones?
Look like what I would be after...... -
• #1722
Sennheiser PXC 550 - can get them for £200 from tobydeals
Also reckon you pick up some QC35s on ebay for £215-220
-
• #1723
They're a gift for my dad so used wouldn't be an option. I did look at the PXC 550, but those and the 4.50 both look a bit big, black, and plastic compared to the Momentum so went for them. Probably not as good, but my dad's not going to notice the difference.
-
• #1724
The Momentum 2.0 are good. Compared to the QC35s I'd say sound quality is a bit better (possibly due to AptX HD on both my phone and the Sennheisers) but noise cancellation isn't as good (although still perfectly clear whilst flying).

Momentum 2 on ear are down from £169 to £69 at HMV just now...
I've been looking at Mpow Flame on Amazon as a running set.
Less than £20 so not a massive risk
