  • Yeah. It should look nice with some steel or alu mudguards, but I am not sure I can convince her to get some

  • @Hulsroy full blown winter is just around the corner, think you have quite a strong argument. Funny how after getting decent mudguards you don't really look back, didn't even bother taking mine off this year. Congrats on the bike, looks great bet you're both chuffed.

  • She has had Giles Berthoud guards before. She doesn't like the rattle.
She uses a clip on rear mudguard and that's it.

  • Giles Berthoud guards
    rattle

    Que?

  • They all rattle a bit.
I can relate to the feel of getting back on my road bike after having commuted on the functional bike for a while. It is just so much lighter, nimbler and sound free.

No matter what. The bike is ready for mudguards if she wants it.

    @Tijs

  • Either way.

She is totally pleased with her bike...

  • How could anyone be displeased with this masterpiece? Fantastic, well done!

  • It is currently without working front brake and my 175mm cranks. I am awaiting her Sugino 165mm cranks.
She is warming up to some GB mudguards so maybe that is on the menu soon. Plus I need to finish her rando rack.

  • Super nice!

  • So sick, well done! I love how massive the chainrings look. Very clean build too.

  • looks so well proportioned for a small bike .. 50-34 tho!

  • Paint and silver finishing kit are a massive win! Good job.

  • Gear inches bro. 34t on 26"×32 mm is about a 31t on 700c×32 mm. Hence your Brompton has a 58t or whatever.

  • Thank you all.

@amey she likes pushing a big gear. She really wanted 53/39T and 11-32T. 50/34T and 12-30T was compromise. I really wanted her to ride 46/36T and 11-36T. But whatever. She rarely cycles more than 50km and is not likely to want to take it to the alps.

Wheels are a bit heavier than the Hope hoops I had for her but it does look much better with silver hubs, spokes and finishing kit.

    Tyres are Kojak 35c.

  • fair enough, I was just trying to sell you a middleburn sub-compact I have :P

  • Show me

  • Wheels are a bit heavier than the Hope hoops I had for her

Are you looking to sell these? Interested

  • Sexy but I need OS stem clamp.

  • No sorry. They are going on the Kona I bought for my wife.

  • Absolutely lovely, really liking the silver finishing kit as well.

  • Er, excuse me

  • Rack done. Now I need a bike for it

  • Nice. Did you have an imaginary head angle in mind so the platform is level? Or what was your thought process there.
