Second one is great!

I love Tri-X pushed to 1600. Put in a camera with a shutter speed of 1/8000 and a fast lens means it's not far off digital in it's versatility.

Yeah I think I may pre order one when I get paid. Having never developed at home it makes it look insanely easy.
Thanks for the info re rangefinders. I may well just be a dick and buy an M3 and sell it if I don’t like it. Or a Nikon S2. They’re plentiful and relatively cheap in the U.S..

So for the moment, I've all but given up shooting film. I'm a little sad about it but I'm sure I will catch the bug again soon - I'm just fed up paying through the nose for film.
Does anyone have any suggestions for a high asa, colour film that would be good for shooting the street photography?
Everything I can find is £10+ per roll.

Lomography 800 is £15 for a box of three rolls. It’s re-badged Kodak similar to Gold/ Ultramax. Bit of a bargain really, though Lomography’s stock of it can be flakey. Best buy big when it’s in stock
Other than that you’re paying through the nose for Porta 800 or importing Fuji Venus

That's a tricky one.
There's CineStill 800T, Portra 800 Fuji "Venus" 800 and Fuji Superia & Natura 1600 ..and they're all £10+.
And they all look pretty "rough" / grainy / colours get a bit weird. If I really wanted to shoot dark-ish street scenes on colour negative film I'd probably just shoot Kodak Portra 400 at 1600.
Google some examples / search on flickr.
To me, the results look more pleasing than the 800 or 1600 ISO films. -

Yea those look sexy.
Haven't ever used one though, and probably never will as they're quite rare and expensive. -

Lovely!
A Fiat 500 Giardiniera ! -

Yeah, bit rich for me. A really nice condition M3 can be had for under $1000 and a very minty S2 with 50mm 1.4 can be had for around $500 if you’re patient.

The original S/S2/S3/SP aren’t that expensive (relatively, for rangefinders anyway). Japanese ebay sellers seem to be selling them at £500+
Have been thinking about buying one for a while. Old Nikon stuff is really well made, and the black paint ones with a bit of brassing look gorgeous

Definitely.
Though I suppose if I were to buy a proper rangefinder-type camera I'd rather save a little more cash and get a Leica M6. -

Couple Cinestill 50 + OM4.
Lots of remjet smears, generally not fussed by the results.

What are "remjet smears"?
Gorgeous colours in the second one, love it..

Portra 160
..@160 ? Those look really contrast-y..

I'm pretty sure it was Portra - but looking at it now, could definitely be Ektar. But also, filmdev, so who knows.
Remjet smears - just big streaky bits on all the frames from Cinestill not removing the remjet fully. Like below:

Cinestill related, anyone got tips on shooting 800t? Going to go down to the lanes in brighton tonight if theres no rain forecasted. Setup will be tripod and canon A1 with a bunch of lenses

Ah, now I see. I was unter the impression that was dirt on my screen.

Agfaphoto 400 seems to have disappeared sadly. That was ~ £2.20 a roll.
I used to push cheap Superia 400 if I couldn’t get 800. So that’s shooting one stop under, but push processing by 2 stops over.
You could try Kodak Vision 3 500T. Search for ‘short ends’ on eBay if you want to spool it yourself.
Or just shoot b&w :D

Yeah, never thought I’d get into black and white but it’s really grown on me and ten rolls from Ffordes or anywhere else for that matter is mega cheap. My fridge is full of the stuff. It’s nice to have it just so I don’t get cut short. With that said, I work relatively near B&H now and their film selection is on point. Got some JCH Street Pan which I’m looking forward to shooting.

Just get Lomo 800. It’s £5 a roll and good.
