Wait until he starts to hate on your wheel stickers....sheesh!

Depends on if Phil's bike stays safely on the internet, or I have to see it in real life ;-)

Judging by my historical number of friends, it’ll probably stay on the internet as much as I’d like to meet real people...

I'd say that would largely depend on the skills of the pilot, or lack thereof.
This is not tremendously helpful.

Undeniably true though. It's a modern well-equipped full sus mountain bike. If it can't handle a UK marked trail, it's not the bike's fault.

But 100mm travel - which suggests that it would explode into a shower of tiny parts when shown an unfocussed picture of a trail, surely?

Modern XC bikes are very capable machines, and that Scalpel isn't that much different to your own.

If it's that much of a worry, spend a couple of hundred extra and get this.
£2,699, but there's a 10% voucher code available. Only for a few more days though.

That's pretty similar to my Scalpel SE, in my very ignorant eyes?

Think of like your bike, but with a worthwhile warranty.

cross posting from AQA, a question concerning straight steerer suspension forks for a Marin Pine Mountain 2016.
Being a 27.5+ is it better to get a 29er fork (8mm diameter difference) or try my luck with a 27.5 fork and the associated clearance issues sure to follow?
Or, do tapered forks fit through some kind of voodoo magik? -

No. I remember the days when rear suspension was for crazy fools and downhill spec front forks had a massive 80mm of travel. Pretty sure we were still riding the trails.

I suspect that most 29er forks won't have the necessary clearance width-ways for a plus tyre.

The 29er camber does look good.

10% off the Camber ends today...

I have seen other riders with a small front mudguard- do these work and if so, is there a particular one I should get?
-

Whatever is most expensive
Next time you are out look at the riders at the end of their rides who are cleanest.

Surprisingly good at keeping spray out of your face. Utterly useless at protecting the rest of your body. Of the 87 squillion brands out there, they're all pretty much the same, just pick a logo that you like. You can even design your own.

I have one of these, it's a Zefal deflector. I likes it.
Other similar devices are available. -
