  • You could do, but I’d be careful in case someone decides to charge you for a full clean/service which is pointless. You could ask for a quote for a movement replacement, or even provide the spare movement by buying one yourself. If you don’t get any reasonable estimates then wait a month or two and I may be able to take a look (I’ve done my BHI quartz exams, and these are fairly simple).

  • I don't suppose you know anything about accurist quartzes do you?

    I've got a chronograph about twenty years old that I've been trying to get repaired for sentimental reasons but have drawn a blank so far.

  • See if you can take the back off and get a movement brand and model number. May be simplest to substitute the whole movement for a chrono.
