New Smiths Everest looks the biz. It’s a new version of the 41mm original with sapphire crystal and other minor changes. Think I prefer it to my own older one.

Still no release date, right?

Any reason why I shouldn’t pull the trigger on a Seagull 1963 21 jewel? I’m in HK in the spring and could pick one up a little cheaper and don’t have a seagull movement watch and quite fancy owning one

Oof; just hope the 36mm looks half as good!

It's a tuning fork watch, tuning fork vibrates at 300hz regulating the watch. When it's powered up you can hear a faint ring coming from the movement, like have a mosquito in there, but not an annoying one.

This 41mm available on Tuesday, the 36mm will be available “before Christmas”, apparently.

Most of them are Ronda movements. You can usually clean the bearings and lubricate them without having to fully disassemble. However, you need a proper quartz testing machine like a Witschi to prove that the current draw has dropped down to within the manufacturer’s spec.

Surely everyone will want the 36mm.
