I have just received a pretty devastating images from Steve at Aurum Finishing.
Beat blasting was too much for the old rusty tubes on the GT.
There is a couple of shit holes in the down tube and the frame is a write off.
I sort of need this might be a problem but I was hoping it wasn't so...

After the work you've already done, surely it's gotta be worth sticking in a new downtube.
Don't get rid, just come back to it when you've nowt to do, and feel the need for some fettling.

Maybe they did actually. I have no idea. Either way I am no riding anything that can't handle a bead blasting.

I made some bars. It is my first TIG welded thing for a bike that isn't a rack. I am dialing my setup with a FUPA cup, foot pedal and pulse settings.
There is something glory moments in there but there is quite a way to Firefly etc.
