• The problem we have had with a few of the UK based rescue centres is that they can be quite slow in getting back, I appreciate that they are volunteer based but when you have left phones messages, email and social media post regarding a dog only for a few days later to be told that they have already gone it's a bit of a pain. Some of the places I spoke to had a kinda we are doing you a favour rather than the other way around. The rescue centre we are hopefully getting our dog from have been really on the ball, from the initial enquire on Wednesday last week, to a home visit next Tuesday with a possible date of the mid of Nov, is a pretty quick turnaround, maybe we have just been lucking and it's worked out well for us but I think the non uk places seem to run that bit better.

  • That was my impression of Dog’s Trust. Having said that, we did some of their training and it was great. Their support for the dogs they rehome is very good - lots of help from behaviourists etc.
