  • Velo Orange Pass Hunter has a straight top tube but not quite your stack/reach.

How fat a tyre do you need?

There can't be many people out there who need 650mm stack but only 390mm reach - and with a straight top tube to boot. You might struggle.

  • Actually Salsa Marrakesh might do it...

    620mm ST/392mm reach/625mm stack - just need a few spacers or a positive stem?

  • Salsa Marrakesh is a great shout, only concern is with a 650 stack I'll need a few spacers.

  • @Saffronspokes has suggested a Kinesis Tripster AT

Comes in 63cm and the geometry is almost bang on

  • You could just get a tall stack stem like this?
But honestly, what is most important, fit or aesthetics?

  • fit or aesthetics?

  • Canyon Grail - sizing seems odd compared to your requirements, presumably because you are looking at frame stack/reach and they measure system stack and reach including the bars, but the seat tube on the 2xl is long enough....

had a brief ride off road on one and they are wicked bad fun...

  • Not a bad shout, but keen to avoid carbon. Yeah, the reach/stack figures are crazy

  • why, you too old for carbon?! :p

  • Had a play on bikeCAD with the Kinesis measurements and my saddle height. Not a winner

  • How about any of the three Fairlight cycles in 61T size.

  • How about any of the three Fairlight cycles in 61T size.

I'd love a Secan, but the sloping top tube would need a 410mm post at max extension.

I've come to the conclusion it'll have to be custom. Bike fit booked for this weekend.

    Well, that escalated quickly...

  • he only came on here to be able to prove to his other half he'd tried all other options before ordering a custom bike...

  • It was Mrs Hobs that convinced me that I should go custom rather than the Kinesis (redundant now). Was unexpected, but I'm not arguing.

  • Well, that escalated quickly...

Ha ha, true, but I have been hunting/thinking for a while

  • that's some excellent negotiation to make her tell you what you wanted the answer to be.

are we talking UK steel or forin Ti?

  • Thinking Chinese Ti, given the success by @Saffronspokes with his Waltly

  • And the nice little discount I'll get on ordering a second frame with them

  • Has this been resolved yet?

  • Seeing that this time next year I’ll have a full on dad bod, I should be perfectly placed to focus on my bikepacking/gravel game (it’s just a sportive really isn’t it) so might think about getting a ti version of my cross bike, so will be watching with interest...

  • I've have a design, although slight tweaks depend on which fork I end up with. Next step is to choose a builder!

Given the length of tubes involved, looks like it'll be Ti

  • could have predicted that weeks ago, do you need to tell me where you'll decide to get it from?

  • Nope, I know :p

  • ... and the next build begins...
