  • why did you sell this again?

  • I've still got that one, it's just not left my parent's garage since the Red Bull 24h race last October.

I sold my other Genesis. I'll get this out again when I shave my legs and can push a 40t inner ring again.

  • What size would those tyres be?

  • 28mm Corsas, but sized up more like 30mm on Hed+ rims. Switched to 24mm Turbo Cottons after Mallorca in early q2 2017 but the Vittorias were super plush.

  • Here's my Day One with the front rack, love it generally but i'm really not sure how that bar/lever angle should be. Any tips? Doesn't quite feel right at the moment.

  • I would personally level the saddle a little so your weight isn’t pushed forward and then drop the levers so the tops of the hoods are horizontal and make a flat transition to the top of the bars

  • I don't think you'll ever get a flat transition with those bars to be honest. For that you'll need a compact shape like Zipp Sl80, FSA compact, Enve compact etc...

  • Mine are a bit above horizontal. Is comfy

  • I think I asked this before, but anyone got a Vapour (2013 ideally) and tried 650bs in it? Looking at photos it looks like it might work, based on chainstay/seatstay shape

I would like to squeeze a 42mm in if possible. I think a proportionally smaller wheel is better for a shorter rider. may keep the 700s though

  • Or Deda RHM02 for about 10 quid.

  • So my 3 week old Genesis Flyer buckaroo'ed me off this morning. The stock mudguard on the rear snapped and lodged in between the wheel and the frame.
I had read some reviews of the bike before I bought it and seen that the mudguards breaking had been an issue, but one
Genesis were aware of and they had taken action and passed the information to local dealers.
Either my local dealer didn't get the memo, or Genesis didn't do anything about it.
Luckily I wasn't injured, just a bit of shock. Could have been a lot worse, busy road etc, etc.
Local shop were obviously sympathetic, told me to bring it in ASAP and they'll see what they can do. To me, it's not their issue.

    Pretty disappointed with Genesis.

P.S. Did I mention it was only 3 weeks old?!

  • Sounds like there should have been a product recall. At least you're ok.

  • shit. not cool.

  • Has the Flyer now got forward facing dropouts instead of track ends? That’s pretty cool.

    Mudguard snapping is not.

Call them out on it on insta or Twitter or something, see if they make it right.

They never replied to me when I called them out on the grease free assembly of the bb on my Day One though.

  • Yeh it does have forward facing drop out, makes it handy to get your wheel out with mudguards, not that that is an issue now........
Emailed them. Don't really know what I'm expecting, but at least they should be made aware.

  • In regards to my last posts;

Bike handed in to local bike shop. They're going to replace the mudguards with something worthwhile.
What's scary is, the member of staff told me it's the 2nd Genesis they've had in the last week with the same issue, albeit a Day One and not a Flyer; still.....

No response from Genesis yet. It did take them 2 weeks to get back to me with bike specifications, so I'm not holding out...

  • Communicate with them on FB or Twitter, public sites will get you a quicker response, especially if there's a problem with their product.

Just bought one for my CdF. Know there’s a few people on here chasing a straight steerer carbon disc fork.

  • Rear isn't really adequate.
