  • Just found a THR-5 on ebay for £110 delivered. Ordered.

Now how to hide it from the wife...

  • Plz, don't play that game...

  • I picked up a Taylor GS Mini (rosewood) yesterday to replace my 'bellied' acoustic. Someone at work was selling it super cheap and I couldn't refuse. The size of the body is taking a little time to get used to but it sounds great for a little guitar.

I'm trying out a few parlour guitars this week to see if I can find anything nicer (bluesier) for sofa playing.

  • ^^i’m not into hiding things. Downplaying value a bit, definitely.

  • Anyone want to buy a Fuzz Factory?

  • thanks for puttimg this up. Never heard of him before, his stuff is great!

  • This just came up for sale here in Brissy, I fucking love it... 60s Kyowa Tele/P-bass for only AU$300... Would happily swap my Dano Longhorn for it...

  • that is mintox.

is it just me or does that action looks high af, which could mean a shonky neck? 300 notes is surely doable...

  • Anything is fixable... That's the only pic I have, my mate thought it was only $50 and was still humming and ha-ing about wether to buy it or not... Hopeless cheapskate... The $50 was an Essex P-bass copy which looks fab for only fifty bucks tbh... I've already got the Longhorn which is great for recording, don't need this at all...

  • I'd rather have that 100W JCM900 tbh... That would give me the cheapest Marshall full stack of all time I reckon*... Just over AU$1k...

    * in the current market, obvs...

  • THR5 arrived. Sounds great.

Done the obligatory new amp with built in chorus and delay Purple Rain thing ad nauseum.

Currently waiting for house to myself so I can have a play with some more hairy settings

  • Did another thing. ☹

Couldn't pass it up at such a price so I'm now the proud owner of an Ibanez Prestige RG2228 made in Japan.

  • So good, I've almost bought that very guitar at least three times since we arrived in Oz...

  • That's awesome and so cheap!

  • I know

  • Have really overspent lately tho.

  • Tell me about it :(

  • That isn't far off retail tho', they're always on sale over here...

The was an end of financial year sale a while back and the price dipped below $180, I would've bought one had I not just bought the Kim guitar... Would've got more use out of it too!!!

  • Anybody selling a cheap Jazzmaster/Jaguar or something interesting with a trem? Preferably not white or sunburst, pink or sparkly would be ace, preferably Fender not Squier... A Danelectro might be OK... For an old London based friend, she's VERY indecisive!!! Must be very cheap, she hasn't got a big budget...

Also anyone got a little valve amp they wanna shift? She needs one of those too...

I've tried to steer her in the direction of a J Mascis Jazzy and an AC4, but she's still unsure...

She's really good people, if I were nearer I'd just loan her one of mine 'TIL SHE COULD MAKE HER BLOODY MIND UP!!! Plz hlp... 😂

  • Sound advice. Sorry I can’t help.

I’ve been hankering after something cheap (and a bit different from the usual budget versions of Gibsons) with humbuckers to play for an upcoming Sabbath related get together. Remembered an old Washburn I had while at school which thought would be ideal... googled it; Washburn Hawk. They go for £700 now. Damn.

  • There are a bunch of fairly similar Japanese built models under various brands from that era. I've got Matsumoku built Vantage brand guitar and bass, both neck-through. Possibly not exactly bargainous these days, although I can't imaging getting quite that kind of a price, at least locally.
