Some excellent news this morning, WADA appealed Johan Bruyneel’s ten year ban to CAS, and it has now been increased to a lifetime one.

WADA appealed for a longer ban? Or Bruyneel appealed to WADA and it went to CAS?

I’m not sure - @RaceRadio on Twitter shared a link to the reasoned decision document but I’ve not had time to look at it yet as my employer is making me work today.

More or less. USADA issued a life ban, the US arbitrator reduced that to 10 years on appeal from Bruyneel, CAS put it back to life on appeal from WADA with USADA as amicus curiae

Something something abnormal unchanging heart rate that doesn't rise after extreme efforts something something motor something something substances apparently.

There is an excel chart on someones twitter account that has data about Froome. His hr never really goes over 160 max but couple of the max cadence are 190+. So instantly must be using a motor instead thinking that could be his max hr.

FWIW I think there's a bit more pedalling involved in Enduro vs. DH, but, yeah, I see your point.

So if they take a blood bag or 149 puffs of their inhaler on a 'transition' does that count as out of competition?

To be fair, if I did enduro I'd have to take drugs just to get over the shame of being dressed like a can of Dragon Soop

The transitions aren't timed but they do have a schedule they need to hit, hence non-team teamwork when a mechanical disaster happens.

I think the emphasis is on the down but there can defo be pedally uphill bits in a stage too

the drugs are for weight loss and concentration too which I imagine is useful for any form of cycling

Increased mental focus, decreased perceived exertion = very useful for almost any physically competitive event.
