Third flap is the Scobleflap
What hasn't this bike legend invented or coined?!

Nice Intec build! Why did you decide for 26" after the Vagabond. I'm after a new touring bike and like the Intec but I've always been fine with my 700x40c tyres, even on rough roads in Asia so I'm not sure if I should stick to that..

I am torn on which 650b tyres to go for on my Vagabond build, I currently have a set of Compass Baby Shoe pass, these are 42C. I'm considering either the WTB Horizon 47c or Schwable G One Speed 50c..... or even maybe the 60c version.
I'm going to run them tubeless and mainly ride tarmac, with some light paths and fire trails every once in a while.
Help me choose the best tyre, for maximum instagram points and fun to ride.

Thanks!
I’m a big fan of 26” wheels. Mainly because you can fit really wide tyres without worrying about toe overlap.
After more than a year on my Vagabond I get my feet caught on the front wheel going through tight corners. If you’re used to 700cx40 I wouldn’t loose any sleep going with that.

60c G One speed, you have already lowered your BB get the fattest possible tyre.

I think you might struggle with 60c @650b, probably depends on the tyre though.

I've got the 60mm guards, I'm assuming if they fit the tyres will fit.

Bought a pair from a slightly suspect German shop so will soon see if they fit!

Raleigh USA has a new cycletruck/mini-cargo bike thing. Doesn't seem to be coming to the UK though. Raleigh USA seem to make far more interesting bikes than the UK division.

This is my functional bike in full dad mode. It’s a 1982 Mercian Audax conversion. I need to put a half link in the chain so excuse the #trackslack. It doesn’t have bottle bosses so I’ve been using cheap chrome band-on ones from eBay but they keep breaking because they’re cheap. Any ideas about alternative bottle storage solutions gracefully received.

If I am not mistaken, King cage is proposing solutions for frames without bottle cage mounts which is similar band-ons so they might be more sturdy?

That’s a great solution, thanks. Hopefully they’ll start selling them soon. The dream is to send it back to Mercian for a refurb so if I did that I’d get them to add bosses.
Problem is, it’s a ‘functional bike’ and I use it daily so sending it away for a month would be a PITA.
EDIT - They are selling them in the U.K. here

Cheers for the heads up, I could use a few of these on track bike and old single-cage road frame.
-
• #20224
That'd do the trick to but the King Cage ones would suit the Mercian better. Well, as much as band-on bottle bosses can suit an old frame...

Hose clips with a strip of inner tube underneath and cheap bottle cage for the rat option.
That is sick! So into that.
