I've done it. It's very flat and it's downhill overall. But the latter half is quite dull as you essentially do an out-and-back route, straight down an incredibly long road on the coast, a U-turn, back along dull road. And the logistics at the start/finish aren't great (both for you and for supporters), you have to get a bus from/to Musselburgh as parking is limited and there are always big queues for bus seats.

Anyone done Edinburgh marathon? Toying with the idea of using it as an excuse for a weekend away with the family. Any reasons why this is a bad idea?
