  • How much was the f&f?

  • @mdcc_tester

I found this interesting actually, thanks.

  • Yeah and me. Didn't realise there were legal (?) definitions of biek tieps. Link?

  • Link?

My comments were based on the difference between EN14781 (racing cycles) and EN14764 (city and trekking cycles). They have been superseded by ISO 4210*, and I don't know which parts have carried over exactly. Because we live in a free and democratic society, we are not permitted to have free access to the text of the laws by which we are governed, and I'm not splashing out £120 just to find out.

*"This part of ISO 4210 does not apply to...bicycles designed and equipped for use in severe applications such as sanctioned competition events, stunting, or aerobatic manoeuvres"
I guess the aerobatic ones are regulated by the FAI 🛩😀

  • Looking good, how wide are the longboards?

  • Ver nice bike! Deserves a more upclose shot.

  • I got mine for £125 as it has a tiny paint chip

  • I have put flat bars (Alpkit Confucius) on my Cotic Escapade, the plan being to make it into more of a functional commuter/everything bike. Excuse the hoses, I'll cut them down when I have settled on position etc.

Re the bars: any views on how wide is too wide for a London commute? Specifically, I'm a bit uneasy about 760mm bars on the Embankment superhighway, where I'm constantly being buzzed by mamils (no offence to those of you on here) rushing home from the City. Should I chop them down (the bars, not the fellow cyclists)?

  • I had flat bars on a Cotic Roadrat, loved it! Bars were a chunk narrower than yours, suspect you'll find out soon enough if they are too wide ;)

  • And they're not rubbing? I remember having those with 28c and it was a pain, now I have the exact same wheel/tire combo than your dad and can't really find anything just right.

  • boutta get an inline seatpost just 4 aesthetics

  • Yeah it feels like it will be fun! Great bikes I think. Getting a pizza rack for on the front and have some guards to put on when it gets wet. Hopefully won't find out too violently whether the bars are too wide!

  • I would cut them down, but I'm cautious like that.

  • They are not rubbing im happy to say

  • New (old) forks on my Graham Weigh. Haven't ridden this bike for ages as I put a mega cheap headset in (£8) & it was so awful, even immediately after installation, that I didn't want to ride it.

Bought these forks a while back on here & didn't fit them as the steerer needed tapping further. Stuck an old (but better quality) threadless headset on, hammered a star nut down & it's worked fine on the commute this morning. Great to be back on it!

The colour match isn't perfect, but it's pretty close (I'm colour blind anyway). Proper track forks, have tried with a 25mm tyre & it's very close to rubbing. They were sold to me as possibly 531, but I've no way of telling myself. Stamped with Faggin.

  • So I've bought myself another bike and it comes with rotor 3d something or other cranks on it, which I have to take off to replace the bottom bracket bearings. However the compression / self extraction bolt has broke and I can't get the drive side crank off.

Doesn't anyone have a spare one laying around or one they could borrow me for a few daysnor know where in the UK to get one from that's not too pricey I would greatly appreciate it!

  • Contact VeloTech, they're the UK distro nowadays and they were a few years ago too so they'll probably have something laying around.

  • Cheers brother.

  • Question about the Whisky No.9 CX Fork; the description says for bikes with a tapered head tube.

Would it be compatible with a straight 44 head tube and Chris King InSet7?

  • Thanks, top man!

Have also just noticed that this is the fork they use on some All City frames with external headset cups.

  • lower cup will be external in a 44mm straight HT

Both cup sit external on tapered HT

  • Ok, so I have this Breezer frame laying around and recently I started thinking about building a 26" bikepacker/tourer as a winter project. It's size large (20" if I recall correctly) and usually, I ride small or medium (50-54 cm). I rode it for two years as a Foodora courier, although a bit stretched out, so I'm unsure if it's suitable for all day riding. Is it worth the hassle of trying to build it up with a short stem and some proper backsweep bars (Jones etc.) or should I just build it up as a pub bike?
