A recovery to home or garage of your choosing would be mandatory imo ;)
Usually take whatever are the most common Allen keys, sockets, rear axle spanner, duck tape, electrical tape, zip ties, patch kit, pump and levers, screwdriver and a bit of wire (100cm which is the max length ever going to be needed) and some knock off leather man type tool. All fits in the tail inside an oilly rag.
Oh bit of old inner tube as well, can use for many things, stopping cables touching, split coolant or oil hose (dry sump bike) etc -
In mine:
- Recovery policy / useful info
- Allen keys (can't remember which, but the most common ones on my bike)
- mini tyre plug kit
- C02
- cheap baby leather knockoff
- zip ties
- pencile with ductape wrapped around it.
- mini pen torch
Always thought one of these would be quite neat.

Mine is similar to @BrickMan 's, but no allen keys (bikes are too old) and the addition of a 8" adjustable spanner, plug spanner, spare plug (bikes are both 2 strokes) and hand cleaner.
Especially the hand cleaner, otherwise roadside repairs effectively cost a pair of gloves.
What do you guys think are essential fo an on board mini tool kit?
Especially for an 1982 italian bike.
