Unfuckingbelievable. Multiple bike brands making relaxed steel drop bar bikes with disc brakes and space for wider tyres!
FOR LESS THAN £2K.

• #5979
Same goes for any other kind of bike no?

FOR LESS THAN £2K.
Wait till you see the new B'Twin.
Hy/rd brakes and full 105 R7000 componentry for only £730.

I think you'll find that gravel became officially uncool on Wed Aug 26 2015, at 1:53 PM

Nice, forgot about these. Trying to decide whether I'm better off buying a frame and fork or a whole bike.
They also have frames but what is this geo???

full 105 R7000
Non-series Shimano cranks and Microshift cassette, so not quite full.
But those Decathlon bikes are pretty unbeatable bang-for-buck wise yeah.

That's the best bike on this thread since the Arkose. Almost every other bike here is just over-thought and over-priced wankery.

I'm pretty tired and have been on a cross country train for a while, I may be a bit grouchy.

Are you a Boring Spreadsheet Bastard like me? Do you spend hours researching frames on the internet? If so, do you want to help me populate a spreadsheet of gravel/functional/monstour frames for the forum? Just to list things like price, tyre clearance, axle type, frame material, owners on the forum (for questions) etc. It could be a great community asset that we could leverage. With a bit of spreadsheet wizardry you would be able to filter it too, to find e.g. all steel frames under £400 that clear a 700 x 40 tyre (Genesis Vagabond, Kona Rove according to my current data).
I already started doing this a while ago for my own devious/boring purposes but it's really a whole lot easier to fill in if you actually have the bike yourself, my mental capacity is too low to remember every frame manufacturer out there, and it's all focussed on what I like which is discs/geared/cheap, so I'm opening it up to you guys.
I'm happy to share it with everyone once it's a bit more comprehensive, but I also don't want to give write access to anyone on the internet, so it needs a bit of thinking about how that's going to work. I am also not willing to put a shitload of effort into this so if you're expecting me to do fix your problems at 5 am in the morning then you've got another thing coming.
I guess give me a shout if you're willing to fill in a few details and want to have some input into it, then we'll form some sort of secret cabal in a group PM thing
My guess is that a) you've all gone to bed b) no one can be arsed to help
Edit: other things to draw on:

My brother runs a Decathlon bike workshop & was raving on about these at the weekend. Fantastic value for money!

I bought one last weekend.
Rode a 200km on it yesterday. Not sure it's a proper Arkose alternative (can only fit 35mm tyres I think, plus it's got road gearing) but it's a cracking little bike. Feels very comfy compared to my other B'Twin.

Oo, these, particularly the Bontrager Satellite+ one, are super tempting for my Croix de Fer. Anyone got any experience/links for more info with these? Details are sparse. Loving the mid-blade rack mount.

Looks way nicer IRL, renders don’t always do justice.

Looks like it's melted on a radiator - tick!

I would have guessed they were for mudguards but it's got eyelets at the dropouts for that and they do look nicely reinforced.
Doing a bit of research I think it's the same/similar to the fork off a 2011 Trek Portland which does take low-riders:

Excellent option. Clearance might be your only issue but that bike was specced with 28s so I'm sure it'd be possible to squeeze a 30 or 32 in at least. Probably don't load it up with too much weight though.

A decathlon bike will never get enough insta likes, not good for gravel

Give it a custom paint job (with the money you save), and no one will be able to tell the difference.

Anyone using WTB Resolute 42? Mine leakconstantly pressure in a couple of days, but I csn still cover around 60 miles with no issue. Im using them on DCR 24 rims. Changed twice rim strips and valve
Looks like Triton have a couple of carbon straight steerer disc forks:

If anyone has a ~400mm A2C QR disc fork for sale (steel or carbon or anything) for under £50 posted, give me a shout, I might be interested
