Nexus Chainring?

  • I am converting and old Dutch bike to fixed. I build new rear wheel and i need to change the old Shimano Nexus Chainring.
I only managed to find a picture in the following link, I have never seen something similar before?

My question, is there a separate Nexus chainring or is fixed in the crank?
where can I buy a Nexus chainring, if so...?

  • The nexus crank was so cheap I suspect the ring was riveted on.

If not measure the bcd, buy whatever fits.

  • Mine was riveted on, easier to get a new crank.

  • As far to my knowledge, it's fixed to the crank. fortunately they're not pricey and if you look around you should be able to find one for around €25.

Alternately, other manufacturers such as Sturmey Archer have their version which is the FCS603

  • thanks!!!! at this price I will get a new crankset for my old Dutch bike! I may buy the Sturmey Archer which is even cheaper!
