very nice. love same seller's Hetchins too (and the modern Paris track bike)...

Old pic (saddle, bar tape & rack are now less anti), but my Hetchins is pre 1950's
Serial/frame number puts it at November 1938.

Hi! A very respected gentleman that I happen to know has recently acquired a pretty unique and vintage bike. He supposes it's been build around 1910-1913, probably in France. We had a nice chat over the bike and it looks really great. Also in great condition. The nameplate states "Gramophones et Cycles L. Pamier Machines a coudre et Armes". Seat stays and chain stays are D shaped and seat stays are connected with the seat tube by a round tube. Leather Perfector saddle is also in really good condition, I wonder if it's original to the bike. Wooden rims are laced onto a hub which wears no brand markings at all.

Would be cool if more knowledgeable forumers provided some additional information. Here are some photos:

Manufacturer based in Lyons - made sewing machines, arms and cycles Reinor, Chimere, and Omega. Presumably the cycle would be badged as one of those. The date seems there or thereabouts -the bottom bracket shell resembles the BSA type in general use up to the late 20s.

Also in the workshop there is a black frame of similar vintage. It is in worse condition but the headbudged remained good:

I know there are a lot forumers who know they way around French bikes. :) it’s pretty hard to find any information on that one.

Holdsworth Monsoon 57cm.

Listing has it as 60s but I think it's more likely to be from the 50s.
Frame number on drop out is 22765.

On classic lightweights they have a Monsoon frame aged as 1960 with the frame number of 27338.
Classic lightweights also have a Typhoon frame aged as 1958 with the frame number of 25003 and therefore I think that the listing on eBay will be 50s.

There is no obvious match to a Hetchins model.

Or maybe it's a forgery (replica with Hetchins decals) with lugs made by Len (http://www.classiclightweights.co.uk/builders/phipps-builders.html)

Or it could be (it's not) Len's own frame built by Ron as per link above :)

Anyway according to this: http://www.hetchins.org/302b.htm it could be a 1959ish frame:

1951 to 1961. In 1951 the system was changed. 'H' replaced all but the last digit of the year
(195)1, so H1 stood for 1951. For 1952, the prefix was 'E2'; the first 49 frames for 1953 had a
'T2' prefix, the last frame with this code being T24508--the 4,508th frame counting from
August 1935; as before, the last four digits carried on the production sequence numbering.
Apparently, Hetchin intended to carry on with C, H, I, N, and S prefixes. However, after
T24508, the sequence carried on from frame number H24509, and subsequent 1950s
frames all had 'H2' prefixes strong text (although a few frames are known from this period without the
leading 'H'). This carried on until the end of 1961.

And below there's a frame number as an example: H26955, 1957 or 8.
And then one more: H28112, 1960.
This is an H27632.

So now off to see the lugs patterns for that period of time.

Couldn't find anything, fun to go thru the Hetchins website.

It's an intriguing frame alright.

I've messaged the seller to find out why they believe it could of been built by Ron Cooper.

If only all classic frame builder's had websites that that.

But yeah, it's an intriguing frame. If it wasn't for the seat stays, I'd have said it's a frame with Len's lugs built possibly by Ron Cooper or whoever, someone good.
But I am not sure others made curly stays a part from Hetchins?

It's also interesting that it has those CB lugs (surely made by Len I think).

when I bought and owned the frame a couple of years ago from the seller at a well known cycle event that’s what I was told by him
I went to colortech where he last worked before passing and the guy there thought it could’ve been(didn’t confirm)as Ron has done this in the past to frames
So hence my mentions in the listing.

Didn't Cooper marked his work (after Gillott, I think) with a C inside the lugs?

Johnny Berry and an early frame at 1947 for the Johnny Berry make.

Overpriced I think at £1,000 or offers but very nice nevertheless.
It was on as a bids listing but it looks like the seller has seen another Berry frame listed at £1,000 and thought it was the way to go.

I don't suppose anyone has a TA specific crank puller I could borrow for a few days do they? I appear to have lost mine and need to take the cranks of my Carlton....I'm in London.
