I wasn't saying that sending kit to Nigeria is working to make cycling more diverse in the UK - in fact I was saying we should probably look closer to home if we want to make the sport more inclusive.
However, photos of Nigerian men and women tearing it up in Lagos wearing KW kit sends out the right message. Perhaps Rutland CC could think about joining the initiative too.
Also I'm not sure that sending bikes to Nigeria is working to make cycling in the UK more diverse.
At best it's a well-meaning gesture, but it's not really the same as being a diverse and welcoming group of cyclists.
Cycling is still overwhelmingly white, male and middle class, even in London.
