  • Faster frames per second of newer dslr/mirrorless would be important for moto sport i'd assume.

  • Just upgraded my X-Pro2 to firmware 5 from 1, and the X100F from 1 to 2.11.

Now if only I could upgrade my picture taking ability so easily.

  • Notice much difference? Very cool that Fuji are proactive with firmware updates that usually end up adding features...

  • It’s much snappier when focusing- just read through this lot and it appears that Fuji have done a lot with focus: http://www.fujifilm.com/products/digital_cameras/x/fujifilm_x_pro2/features/page_08.html

I also glued the eye-cup in, see if that fixes what has become an incredible pain in the arse.

  • OK so if anyone knows a 6D or 7D going for a decent price 2nd hand, let me know.

  • If you can, aim for a 6D. Full frame is lovely, and 6D's have dropped a fair but in price lately

  • The 25/1.8 looks like serious business after adding the aftermarket focus tab and a vented hood. Much better in operation too, reduced flare and faster focusing.

  • Just handed my Xpro2 to Park Camera to send back to Fuji as you lose one eyecup per time you use the camera and it’s driving me insane.

Cue huge faff when it turns out I bought it 12th Feb 2017.

“Fuji only give a years warranty sir”

Which is fine- I didn’t buy it from Fuji, I bought it from Park, and my understanding is that my warranty is a) with them and b) 2 years as EU regs trump UK regs (for now at least), so they’ve sent it off but warned me that Fuji will charge me to fix it.

    We shall see.

  • Hey guys, any thought about the Plaubel Makina 67 ? Sounds like the perfect medium format camera for daily use (with the Mamiya 7)

  • Did you try it ? I've been saving & selling a lot of stuff to have one..

  • Well, what do you want to hear..
..if you're set on spending about £1500 on a particular analogue medium format camera you likely know everything there is to know already I guess, there's not much anybody on here can say that will help you with the decision.

The focusing with the knob is weird, but works well.
Overall handling is great, for that matter.
Careful with the bellows, and setting to infinity before you close.
That one cable is the Achilles' heel of the camera.
The lens is great, it renders quite typically for Nikon.

In a nutshell this is an awesome, portable fixed lens 6x7 medium format camera.
If this is what you want, then I think you should definitely get one, and enjoy shooting it.

  • they are north of £2k now ..

  • If you don’t mind 6x6, you should think about the Mamiya 6. Also has the retractable lens that makes it easier to travel about with. Three lenses are all very good, and cheaper than the 7 and the Makina.

  • No they're not.

The *W*67 are sometimes north of £2k, but even those you can get for 1.5 without much of a problem.

  • Mamiya 6. Also has the retractable lens that makes it easier to travel about with.

Shit build quality though which doesn't exactly make it great for travelling.

  • I’ve had two over the past twenty years that have never had a problem.

  • That's great, I'm happy for you.

Personally, I wouldn't want to take such an expensive plastic camera which has a reputation for its sub-par built quality travelling.

  • Definitely not as fragile as the Makina.

  • If I PX the X-Pro2 without taking it out of it's box when it is returned by Fuji, what should I get to replace it?

I have a fair investment in lenses, therefore the XT-3 is probably the most logical camera body to get, I also have batteries that will work in it and so forth. However, I prefer the rangefinder body-style.

    Any suggestions?

  • It’s just an opinion.

  • The succesor to XT-20

  • Ok! Thanks for the feedback, that's exactly what I was thinking about it + it looks lit:)
