The socks come in left and right specific
I hate this and assume it serves no purpose than the suggestion of 'technical'

Tempted for another bash at the ultra in February.
A distinct lack of training and underestimating how steep the climbs up the Lomond Hills were going to be, made it a tough day out last weekend. Obvs it pishing down for most of the day helped greatly šThey certainly arent PB courses, with winning times of.

Iāve been using wrightsocks for years. Not super long lasting but I love them. Pair them with ininji for ultras.

Drugs advice please. Iāve got Abingdon marathon on Sunday and been developing a sore throat all week. Today Iāve come out with full on sneezy snivelly cold. What can I take tomorrow and Sunday morning to minimise itās impact on my run.
Iām a bit short of long runs this year but 20k runs at āmarathon paceā seem to suggest Iām reasonably close to pb form. Iāve had to miss all my other planned races this year so all my eggs are in this basket...

This think zinc (with vit c) is the only thing to have any statistical significance on the length of a common cold.

I ran Orkney marathon with a cold in full swing.
After a few miles, HR was over 175 when it would normaly have been around 150- 155 for the effort, so knew it wasn't going to end well. Made it to 18 miles, pacing a team mate, but then the inevitable wall appeared and had to walk for a good while.
Finished with a time I'd normaly cover a marathon on an easy long run. However Strava Suffer score was over 600 and if took weeks to recover from š³Won't be doing that again.

20:55 this morning, totally didnāt think the start through and set off in the back of the pack, so didnāt start really running for the first 45 seconds, so some easy time to find by not being thick. Pushing below 20 mins is hopefully on the cards by year end.

Aye, Iāve done that too, but Iām asking for a solution... not sensible advice :-)

I'd be hitting the super juices, beetroot, carrot, Apple, orange, ginger. Extra sleeps too. Probably wouldn't run if things didn't improve though.
csb: I 'ran' the first great gorilla run when I should've been in bed, symptoms were closer to flu than common cold. Jogged about 100yds then walked the rest of 4 miles feeling like sh1t. David Blaine (or another magician?) was living in a glass box by tower bridge at the time. /csb.

I left house too late to get to Parkrun in time for start. Was a fun intense hares & hound run but probably not the best idea a week out from DtD.

Anyone finding the Bluetooth not watching on their Garmin watches? Seems the last update (of either the connect app or the watch itself) means that the function doesn't work on the watch at all now FFS.
A few rants on the Garmin forums about this so be careful if you're due an update! (Forerunner 35). -

I had to re-pair my watch after my run this morning. But no other issues.

Summary of all Garmin updates (and other GPSes) here:-
http://gpsinformation.net/allory/new.htm
The 735 firmware was updated today and included:-
"Various fixes and improvements related to Bluetooth connections to smartphones."
I wonder if something new will be coming for the 935.
No problems with Bluetooth here on my 935, and I've done at least one activity every day for the last week. Last firmware update on the watch was a couple of weeks ago. The phone app was last updated yesterday (to 4.12).

What do you omnivores think of the (vegan runners) displeasure about parkrun being sponsored by an egg company? Indifferent? Just curious. Not trolling.

Cheers. Still not getting anything after unistalling and reinstalling Connect. My watch doesn't show the bluetooth icon when I turn it on or off so I think it's that. I'm on version 3.30 and there is a 3.32 on the list you posted so I'll try and force that update (although it says it's an update for Samsung phones and mine is a Moto 3g so don't know if it is relevant but worth a try).

Please be nice. This isn't the memes thread.

Maybe VR should step up and sponsor as well/instead of.
Or get off their moral high ground

Been trying to see where I can magically get more speed from and unfortunately have to face the reality that I just need to run more, and run faster.

Weird one. I should be bothered but I'm not really.
Egg production isn't nice is it? But then farming generally isnt. If it wasn't them who else?
There could be any company reprrsting something I don't agree with. Supermarkets? -

British Fell Relay Champs today, first race post ankle injury 3 months ago. 5 miles/2400ft or 8km 700m~
I ran leg 1 with the aim of beating the mass start at 75 mins.
Weather was poor, rain, fog and wind but not actually too cold, ran in a vest no bother. Didnāt push hard enough at the start so ended up further down the field than Iād hoped but felt steady on the climbs as a result and had a decent amount in the tank to descend well and pick up places (I even picked up a few places on the climb too). Came 127/250 - just out of the front half. Our menās open B team came 140th~ so good enough for the team anyhow. Hr average was 173 so I was definitely trying either way.Super happy that it went well and was injury free. Feeling a lot more psyched now for getting back into racing. Really felt the buzz of racing today. On the coach home drinking cans of gin and slim, good times!
Also accidentally bought some x-talon 212s for Ā£65 and some of the Ron hill shorts I run in for 60% off. Donāt think youāll ever be able to try shoes on and get them that cheap anywhere else!
Does anyone have a receipt for a Garmin Foreunner 630 that I could borrow for an insurance claim?
I bought one a few years ago, but can't find my receipt anywhere.
(unlikely but) thanks in advance
