  • Hello,

I'm moving and this has been sitting in my closet for ages, is a quite dirty as a result. It is a replica on Denis Menichov's bike to celebrate his 2009 Giro win. The bike is surprisingly comfortable for a pure race machine.

The frame weighs approx 1000g and the fork is 330g, included is carbon FSA headset, BB (may need a service) and long Giant seat clamp.

Basically my old man bought it (lol) in 2011 for a considerable sum from a Giant dealer in Melbourne. Used for some light riding in dry conditions for a few years.. Went to a Defy to improve comfort and it sat in his garage for year. I bought it over to London a few years ago and rode it maybe 12 times in summer. It is just slightly too small for me...im 5'10.

    £150

NOTE: I stupidly over-tightened the ISP when it was on the turbo, it is cracked at the very top. I've been quoted circa £180 to fix the crack at the top of the post or if you have a liberal attitude to risk you just ride it with the seat clamp set quite low assuming you are less than about 5'8.

  • Do you know the size?

  • I'll have to check the measurements when I'm home because obviously the ISP has been cut, but from memory it is a medium:

    M/50.0
    Top tube: 55.50 cm
    Head tube: 15.00 cm
    Wheel base: 98.00 cm

  • Would this fit me at 5’11? Provisional dibs please!

Lol - skim read to the price and wanted to get my dibs in... too small for you at 5’10... hmm...

    @amey cheers, Undibs then... :(

    @Lolo un-undibs!

I follow a guy on Instagram who has one of these and always fancied it...

Can I get back to you with some size questions later?

    Cheers,
    Matt

  • I have a Medium TCR and I'm 5'11.

  • I've had a small TCR that was quite comfortable but but it is the ISP that is the issue, I can assure you if it fit me I wouldn't be selling it!

  • Can we have some pictures of the damage?
    Cheers,
    Matt

  • I can imagine. To be fair I'm really at the limit with mine, but they are very compact frames.

  • What is the current length from centre of crank to top of saddle? Or clamp?
    I’m a short legged 5,11...

  • I should add it was only just too small for me. Maybe the carbon repair people could add a little bit on to the ISP (a really irritating feature). My old man is like 5'8. and the ISP was cut for him. If i was his height i would ride it as the clamp would be well below the damage but im fairly blase about this kind of thing .

See the photo for the damage. It is about 2-3cm and has been quoted on this basis. Basically they would repair the carbon and put some kind of basic protective black glossy paint over it.

You could get it properly painted white, but i wouldn't bother because you can't see this part of the isp because of the clamp.

The rest of the ISP just needs a clean, most of it is grime frame where i've taped it up for travelling

  • IMO this M size would work, set up like the famous instagram owner you refer to.
but at 5'11' and relatively short legged too i would aim at M/L with a TCR

  • Erik Jonsson right?
    I’m still hunting geo online...
If someone smaller is keen then let them take it!

  • he is riding a S with a lot of drop
Giant are pretty helpful with sizing

  • Ah awesome!
    Thanks for that!

  • Erik was on here back in the day. He knows a good HHS(R)B.
