Look genuine to me. I think you can get bezel inserts on eBay. Otherwise check Cousins.

The more I look at that Helson the more I want one.

My sharkdiver 45 in bronze is my favourite watch. Partly for sentimental reasons, but mostly for practicality and design. Love it.

Ive got mad love for my Mühle copy of that.

Ah cheers buddy - the upside is that a friend has helped me put together an awesome piece, just cost me more than planned! I’ll be back in touch about an Explorer as soon as possible, it will be mine! 😄

Why the massive price difference though? Bronze isn't that more expensive than brass and the machining must be the same?

No idea really. Marine grade bronze Is about 20% more expensive than your average brass alloy I think.

Bronze is more resistant to corrosion etc. Maybe it's just more useful than brass.

Bronze ages better than brass though IMO. Makes your wrist less green also.

Yeah, all I know is I have a goldie brassy looking watch that I adore. Doesn't really matter what it is made of I guess.

Kinda wish that I’d bought the marine grade steel Immersion watch a few months back when someone had one listed cheap. Super chunky Jap movement auto, probably indestructible - serious actual-use contender. I do love the flag auto, though.

I think bronze patinas way better but you'd have to be pretty picky to notice.

The brass is way better value, I couldn't justify the bronze and Helson isn't a premium enough brand to justify the bronze price.

My wrist isn't green yet
