  • The Gauge based versions were nice, but too pricey for a shoe that self destructed after about 12 months use. Maybe the new ones will be a bit more durable.

  • So I had a pair of actual Gauges and thought they were pretty robust. I bought them second hand, then spent a year and half messengering in them. They did die eventually, but they held up damn well.

  • Maybe you got a duff pair. Mine have held up very well so far, although I use them for touring not crossering.
