A lurgy that won’t shift means a no show from me. Very jelly. Have fun all!
-
• #11
That sucks! Hope you're on the mend soon.

Cutting it fine for the train. Don’t get a ticket for me and don't wait for me! Will advise.
-
• #13
Sounds ominous, will delay ticket purchase in the hope you can join the group saver.

"Luckily" the 1911 is cancelled, so not cutting it fine anymore. Do take a ticket for me, do wait for me please :)
Ride-out bunch, the train will arrive at 2009.

Excellent, just waiting to see what's happened to Graeme before we get tickets.

I'm in a pub by Oxford Circus. Just had to post cos I'm feeling left out.
In other news, end of season party is slated for 15 November at wests.

Who won?

• #18
The details are a bit hazy. I think at one point we travelled back in time and were called NERDS by a passing fratboy/jock car from the 80s.
Tim won – but he also lost as he had to buy the beers (thanks!). Apparently Graeme’s shopping bike isn’t aero enough.
The hero award goes to Ben though, as he rode the whole sprint with a rapidly deflating front tyre - then used your favourite waiting room to fix it and still had enough time to pop to the pub for a bottle of Newcastle's finest ditchwater.

Even with all the aero in the world (and/or sneaky manoeuvres) I'd still have had no chance.

Haha Tim I owe you a thanks for the beer, I thought Clement had bought me it. Apologies and thanks!
Great ride as usual, interesting hike-a-bike section and the discovery that a Toyota Auris hybrid is now the Essex lad ride of choice. Looks like the halcyon days of white XR2i's are long gone but does mean they can sneak up on the peloton easier.

Ave temp was 4, with low of 2!

I take full responsibility for buying you the aforementioned bottle of ditchwater. Though Tim did actually indeed buy you a beer, but we drank it between ourselves before you arrived.
It was a nice ride, spirited at times and relaxed at others, with a lingering sense of mystery in places, and cold!

Well I'm very glad none went to waste! Did feel quite fixie skiddah riding back to the station with my bottle of dog...

we drank it between ourselves before you arrived.
This should be the new TNRC motto.
