I want to do this. I’m free that day. I might be fast enough if I have a big cup of coffee that morning. Tentatively in.
-
• #3
Sweet. Would be great to have you there.
-
• #4
I might be up for this. what time do you plan heading off? oops, scratch that - just realised time is in the event info. yeah that might work
-
• #5
Less than a week. Forecast looks good.
-
• #6
out, sorry. got to work in dresden that day!
-
• #7
Tempted. Getting to Richmond is a PITA, but if you're riding from your house I could join you en route?
-
• #8
Where abouts do you want to join?
-
• #9
Going from Brockley, got a nice quiet route to Streatham, I understand you're in Tooting? Name a place.

Just a reminder that the trains between Brighton/Lewes and Three Bridges are a bit screwed this weekend. I think it's the long way via Littlehampton or a bus to Three Bridges.
(or you could ride out to Uckfield)

• #11
I mean en route to Richmond if you're riding to start...
-
• #12
Cheers @vilms5000
I see there are trains from Brighton > Victoria (via Hove and CLJ for other hope on/off options) every 30 mins. 2h 14mins for the full journey mentioned. £18.70 -

That's a bit shit! I'm riding anyway, won't have time to do it again this year.
-
• #15
Weather looks ace. Is anyone still up for it? I'll leave at 6AM if not.
-
• #16
Would have bitten your arm off except Saturday is the Peoples Vote March thing and so...
That route out west from Richmond to roughly Clandon/Guildford is all new for me. I'd be stoked to come along on the next go...
I hope you have a blast, meanwhile : ) -
• #17
6am start is good too!
-
• #18
6am at Ham Gate?
-
• #19
You still in? 6AM in Richmond may be a bit early for you. Let's meet at 7 next tot Tooting Rail.
I'm going to purezza in Brighton for post ride recovery meal. -
• #20
Now I’m in for sure:) thanks for accommodating for me!
Purezza is a good idea, haven’t been to that one yet.
Will bring loads of snacks so as not to rely on a cafe/pub along the way. But cool if you’re planning on stopping at one. -
• #21
Sweet! I normally stop at coops on the way to get more snacks and drinks. But we can do a pub too.

Booking train ticket back.
Brighton > Victoria is £16.20 but I'm getting off at Clapham Junction.
If you look up Brighton > CJ it's £18.70 so don't fall for this trap... wtf -
• #23
oh dammit. I've just bought a gravel bike and am really keen to do this kind of thing but can't make Saturday. And you're going to Purezza!!...I'm about to cry.
Have fun!

I'll get mine on the station and I'm only going as far as East Croydon. Paid under a tenner last time I did it.

This route is perfect for Gravel/XC rigid 29er. But I'd skip the SDW section if I were on skinny tires.
I'll be doing it again in early Spring.
This one is defo not doable fixed on 23c tyres. Although adventure/gravel/cross biek with mud boots on should be fine.
Meet at Ham Gate then follow the attached Gpx.
It's ~70 miles and I'd like to get it done in under 7 hours.
