Is there a current go to set of guards for stupid bikes with very little clearance and no mudguard mounts?I've not tried this guy's method (cable ties with rivets and washers) myself but it looks clever.
I have PDW guards, they seem to have really little clearance even with 23mm tyres. I haven't been able to adjust them well though as I'm missing the rear bracket and the front bracket hits the bottom bearing cup. I used their QR axle mounts for the stays.

The lack of mounts is easily bypassed, the lack of clearance less so! I could only fit a 23c on a bike with Enve forks and PDWs.

I think I will have the same problem if I try to go to 25mm tyres. It looks like the underneath of the front brake will stop the guard from being pushed up enough.

It’s possible but they need modifying. That means removing stock hardware and going all out with a drill and some files. See mine upthread. Running 25s with pdw slim. Campag calipers being the bottleneck.

Finally got a winter bike with mudguard mounts! So excited. Longboards still the way to go if I don't wanna spend shitloads?

Finally fitted the front Pelago guard on my other half's bike
Good length! -

Does anyone know if anywhere has Velo Orange Zeppelin 52mm 700c black guards in stock at the moment?
-
• #3760
Looking for the same...
Speaking to fresh stripe looks like no news of when stock will be arriving.

Veloduo said end of October. Don't mind waiting but thought someone might know a secret source.

I’ve been waiting since around May...

Ah.

totally repping the Kinesis fend-off 40mm. Waited a couple of weeks for sigma sport to receive them. They seemed made for that kinesis GF thing, and clear prefectly on genesis equilibrium disc with gravelkings 32mm. A decently priced alternative to PDWS and look just as good.

Any recommendation for easy on/off guards for 650b Byways? After a filthy ride on the weekend need something that will keep some/all of the muck off my backside.

Maybe liberte cycles have them. Worth emailing.

Good shout looking over in Europe (even if the exchange rate is terrible). None on liberté cycles' site but found some on ultimebike. €74 + €17.40 postage to the UK though. I'll probably wait as I do already have mudguards, but @motoko take a look.

At that price I'll wait. Got some of the VO hammered guards on right now, but they prevent me running 43mm tyres.

i've just gotten the velo duo guards and the mounting hardware seems quite heavy. thinking of using the pdw hardware instead. anyone done this or know of another lighter option?
also has anyone experienced cracking or anything whilst drilling them?
-
• #3770
They show in stock on the Dutch version of the website. Worth emailing to see if they'll post for a more reasonable quote. Though it'll probably be more or less the same as Ultimebike

What's the best way to stop this rattling against the seat tube?
I was thinking of drilling two holes and then tying it on. Is there a better way?

That looks like a good idea, thanks.

ive got a frosted black winter hybrid thats a bit dull.
that pelago mudguard looks like it might spice it up a bit. im looking ideally for something in a dayglow colour , all the stuff in bike dealers is as dull as ditchwater. aesthetics 60% / function 40% if im being totally honest. -

Buying fenders for the aesthetics? You are an outlier.
SKS Raceblade Long. Nowhere near as good as PDW, but you get more clearance.
