just got an email from police saying they've been summonsed. if they plead not guilty i will be called to court as a witness. i called them back to ask what offence(s) they've been summonsed for and it's the driving offense but not the threats... now i'm starting to feel pretty anxious about the prospect of encountering them again if i do have to go to court.
should be fine. in my experience they will be more interested in the incident itself than what was said afterwards.
example: got close passed a few months ago. the driver got out and made several threats to kill me. i asked him how he planned do it, and reminded him that if he had done that on his driving test he would probably have failed.
i felt pretty ashamed about the whole thing - it did make me think twice about reporting it. after deliberation i did, he was issued with notice of intended prosecution and nothing was said about his threats / or my belligerence towards him.
