Sometimes I do wonder which is more merciful? To let it go back into the wild and possibly die later or let the cat kill it, so at least it's quicker...
So far I have tried to let them go whenever I can and will probably take them to the vet again if it happens again, but it's annoying that they just kill for fun.
Hahahahahaha!!!! Welcome to the club!
Patch once brought home a little bird, I let it go, she brought it back again, I let it go again, she brough it back again again, I let it go again again... She brought it back again again again... so I let it go the front door instead... fast forward, went to work, got home, bird's been sitting duck all day and shat everywhere outside my front door, couldn't even fly off when I tried to catch it... so I took it to our vet... they asked me what's happened to the bird to which I replied.... erm.... not sure, just found it outside my front door... la la la la la...
Anyway, they nursed it back to health, so whether I'd still go to hell when I am dead for brining up a murderer is still open to debate.
