  • Yep! They have just closed Breakspear Rd South for six weeks because of HS2 and that is causing massive tailbacks during rush hour.

  • Only ever cycled as far as Hillingdon Cycle Circuit, so after that is new cycling territory for me.

Join up to cycle to a Wests Beers Ealing/Acton/SBush one Thursday night, as a recce?

  • Last weeks BRS closure was a little bonus from Affinity Water. The minor 4" main burst early on Wed morning. Thus then shorted out the power supply to the farm/houses on the north side of BRS.

  • I certainly want to do a recce on routes before I relocate next year, so may well pop along to a West Beers - two birds, one stone and all that.

  • Suicidal flies out in force today. One in my eye and one on my face. Not sure what's going on.

  • Buses...full slow stopping all the time.... Smells like inside of a packet of dry roasted peanuts...,

  • had to come in by car today due to yesterdays shenanigans....... checked the rim carefully i think its ok despite being ridden on

also noted the garage where i stopped to get my coffee now stocking "turkey festive sandwiches" ..... already............ still bought one though.

  • First snot rockets of the season today.

  • Guy in front who was very keen on staying in front (not that I mind, if he wants to race, I'll do it) very effectively avoided being drafted by having no mudguards. Good defensive technique.

  • 13 mile shakedown commute on retro functional 1x9 build this morning.
only dropped the chain once, but confirmed i deffo need a NW chainring if i want to be able to hop up kerbs.

    oily fingers.

  • Waaaaaaaaay to close overtake on the way home yesterday. The driver stopped at a shop but as I was already grumpy and tired from a cold I left it.

Cos if you can't be super nice and happy when you need to explain that when you can nearly grab their wingmirror it is a too close it will probably end up in a confrontation and nobody gets any the wiser/nothing gets better.

Sun today and a stopped of a van of a company called "Steamy Windows"
They replace windows, but hah, what a name.

  • Last time I checked Mr cab driver you are turning across my path into a side street, you need to give way to me, shitclown.

  • Three flats on the way home and bailed out by Brixton Cycles (as always).

Almost has me considering Marathon plus ...

  • Crisp and clear morning, gloves definitely needed (non-glove people must be hard), still in shorts though, thick leaf mulch, autumnal/10

  • I've been commuting for like a decade with a backpack and am thinking of going a front rack on a charge plug. I've seen quite a few prommuters rocking it, can someone tell me if it is worth it, i.e pros and cons.

  • Did you ride through a kilo of glass? What sort of flats? What sort of tyres?

  • Told a woman she should probably drive with at least one hand on the wheel rather than both on her phone. She immediately started practically frothing at the mouth shouting abuse out her window all the while nearly ran over a pedestrian crossing a zebra crossing because she was paying no attention to the road whatsoever.
She sped off and pulled over and tried to hit me with her door as I rode past.
Didn't get a plate. I was just trying to get the hell outta Dodge

  • I just got doored by some twat in a van parked on double yellows. Luckily I was in a car, which somehow suffered nothing more than a tiny scrape (which I was hard pressed to tell apart from all the other scrapes). His door looked like it wouldn’t close and he was shook up, as he was pretty much stepping out the door while opening it. Good job one of us was paying attention and hopefully he’ll think twice before doing that to someone on a bike.
