Tbh there was some poetic license as I have one of these rechargeable work lights that are fucking brilliant:

Get a head torch dude.
No power in my garage so I used to have to hold a torch in my mouth to unlock a bike in the morning and lock itup at night, headtorch makes it soooooo much easier. I'll do basic maintenance, chain lubing, fixing punctures etc by the headtorch and I've even done a bit of brazing by it.

A decent headlamp is a good investment. Useful in so many ways. I used to use a little maglite, I could swap engines on the TZR overnight with just that and the streetlights. I wouldn't want to do it now though.
