Airborne Blackbird on a budget

Posted on
  • sadly the Marin Bear valley is still sitting outside, but i've been given this Airborne Blackbird.
unfortunately it's when i never seem to have mucho cash, so i'm desperately going to build it on a strict budget and the items must be black

I've set a £100 budget and from that so far i have:
    seatpost
    front and rear brakes
    brake levers
    stem
richey bars - decribed as used..but look new
Shimano rs10 wheels and tyres from the forum (dans)

i have £25 left to spend and i need:
cranks (might be able to pick some up FOC, have my eye on some, might cost me a favour though)
    chain
    cables
    single speed conversion kit
    pedals =- spd hopefully
    aheadset spacers....
    skewers

and then try and find the time to ride it!

  • The recessed brake fitting is very tight into the front carbon fork. It will go but I don't think it should be that tight. Can you get different diameter fitting?. The back brake is fine

  • As it is so far
