  • Believe he wrote some/many of the episodes, but in typical US tv style a team of writers are needed to keep up with the demands of the 24(?) shows per season for a network hit.

  • Holy shit there's an old man karate kid?!

Oh, yeah, you just reminded me I have S04 of Silicon Valley still to watch.

I've watched all of Ash vs. Evil Dead

  • sadly when it come to wrapping the whole thing up it feels like they got bored and just tacked on a bittersweet paint by numbers ending that took away all the horror of the slow build up and basically walked back everything that had been remotely scary about the whole show until it was a shitty ghosts of yoda, luke and anakin standing by the fire saying goodbye finale.

Interview with the creator shows he fucked with the ending and went soppy

The night before it came time to shoot it, I sat up in bed, and I felt guilty about it. I felt like it was cruel. That surprised me. I’d come to love the characters so much that I wanted them to be happy. I came into work and said, ‘I don’t want to [spoiler]. I think it’s mean and unfair.’ Once that gear had kicked in, I wanted to lean as far in that direction as possible. We’ve been on this journey for 10 hours; a few minutes of hope was important to me.”

wasn't the only thing that ruined the end but such a cop-out.

  • Parks and Rec is on US Netflix for the VPNers amongst us.

  • yeah Karate kid series actually very good, better than all remakes and sequels

  • So is B99 actually good? Saw a few episodes and was reminded of Scrubs, particularly with the annoying lead character.

  • Parks and Recreation is great in my opinion, you just have to power through the very mediocre first season of (only) six episodes. It almost becomes a different show after that.

  • Anyone been watching Informer...I've really enjoyed (no doubt helped by the fact that I live in some of the areas covered) but think it handles issues variously issues a bit more sensitively than most and i enjoyed the cast

  • Started watching it a couple of days ago, not too bad, bit unrealistic in places, but entertaining enough

  • Now 8 episodes into the first season of Counterpart. It's pretty faultless so far. I encourage everyone here to give it a go. JK Simmons is obviously wonderful and Harry Lloyd of Targaryen-fame is ace.

  • Anyone been watching Berlin Station, watched the first 2 episodes pretty good although there is a lot of mumbling and hard to make out some of the dialog.

  • Two top series at the moment i'm enjoying, A Discovery of Witches is spinning along nicely as is Castle Rock..

  • I'd forgotten how dark it can get. S5 was great, I didn't want it to end.

  • A Discovery of Witches

    i've tried that, disappoint
a lot of talk little magic action. literally one spell per episode. and a bit of kissing

  • Deutschland '86.

A fair way below the quality of Deutschland '83, but still watchable.

  • little magic action. literally one spell per episode. and a bit of kissing

Think its part of the story, not allowed to use spells, keep us Humans in the dark. It develops and ep6 is full of it.

  • Castlevania season 2, wow, binge worthy. amaze animation
first season a bit meh feels like one long pilot (it's only 4 episodes). but season 2 - wow! all ingredients are there. Recommend, available on Netflix

  • Daredevil s03. Best so far and a really compelling representation of a sociopathic OCD sufferer in the form of Bullseye. And Wilson Fisk is far and away the best villain in the MCU. sucks that all these shows are getting shitcanned now.

  • cannot understand people losing their shit over The Haunting of Hill House

    soooo fucking tedious

  • Yeah - really enjoyed it too.
Bit confused by the beginning because i hadn't finished watching the defenders series though.

Vincent D'onofrio is such a perfect Kingpin.

  • cannot understand people losing their shit over The Haunting of Hill House

    Same. And jump scares. Really?

  • Not fussed about iron fish getting canned, first series was shit and not bothered with the second yet, but surprised Luke Cage went the same way. Half way through daredevil at the moment and it's good.
