so I'm here to say that we don't all agree with Thom or condone his conduct.
Well done for coming on here and calling him out on his shitty behaviour and for progressing this within the club. If there are others in the club that do support him, would be good if you could call them out too. It should go without saying that racism should not be excused with political views and anyone that throws up the 'hurting a man's source of income' argument can gtfo too.
What we've seen today is the typical gaslighters script, accusing the forum of hiding behind avatars and being bullies when he's doxing and doing far worse.
Sheffield is a relatively small place that'll be getting smaller for him by the day.
Thom, the forum is full of some of the nicest most genuine people I've ever met. Don't confuse people calling out your shitty behaviours with bullying.
Rutland Cycling Club member here.
I've been aware of this thread but not paid particularly close attention. Someone's told me that Thom has tried to use his affiliation with the club as some sort of mitigation for his behaviour, so I'm here to say that we don't all agree with Thom or condone his conduct.
Mercifully, the yearly hill climb is the only time most of us ever have to encounter him. I've never seen him on one of our Saturday or Tuesday rides, or any race bar the hill climb. I believe he sometimes turns up on Sundays, but I've never seen him then either.
I'll bring all this up in next month's meeting and propose that we refuse sponsorship for next year's hill climb.
