Maybe someone on here has a pump and is near your work?
-

had to turn back and switch bikes as the winter beater has a shocking rattle (sounds like a box 'o' nails in a tombola) coming from the back wheel. Plus general ping! and sproing! sounds from the mudguards/frame. And all that noise puts me off my stride.

Very foggy this morning, roads felt almost like ice in places.
Although it felt like I was cycling through a horror film as at points I couldn't have been able to see more than 100m infront of me.

With just a little more training the hivemind will be able to take over all my internet activities and I can retire to a cushy life in an undisclosed off-grid location :)

Central Uxbridge or Uxbridge-ish?
Going up Hillingdon Hill expect vehicle drivers to ignore the marked bike lane on the road, and pedestrians to be surprised to see a cyclist on the shared pavement. The newly paved cycle lane alongside the service road, Hayes-ish, has been treated merely as additional parking space by the car servicing/selling guys.
Expect non-existent lane discipline through Southall and non-checking pedestrians striding into the road.
The wider road down to the Iron Bridge is less hectic. Through Hanwell & West Ealing the continuous parking makes the roadways narrower and less relaxing. Then you are into hippy territory. -

Well, Uxbridge-ish. Right by Swakeleys RAB to be exact, so I would join the Uxbridge road by going down Park Rd and then up Hillingdon Hill - I know exactly what you mean. Only ever cycled as far as Hillingdon Cycle Circuit, so after that is new cycling territory for me.

Look forward to many of the 550+HGV movements per day from the HS2 tunnelling at Ruislip Golf course blocking Swakeleys rab soon.
Slightly mitigating news; HS2 unofficially acknowledged to be 9 months late already. -

There is a barely used bike path along the south side of the A40, all the way down to the Polish War Memorial.
Up over the hill past the Dinosaur Golf to the (closed) White Hart rab, then Ruislip Road. Bus lane in places, new shared bike lane from Greenford traffic lights to West Ealing.
Wheelie home?
