Satire, innit.

If what you've taken from this thread is that we're simply not over enthused with his style of branding and are yugely jealous of the mans great successes, then you've clearly not read a single post from the thread.

I really don't get this. What does it matter if Thom is a nice guy in real life? It's irrelevant when what he's been called out for is his public online postings.
Also, you seem obsessed with the intelligence and articulacy of posters on this thread. You might want to reread your posts.

Some of us on here have met him, known him and know of him and his “views”. We are from Sheffield. We’ve been aware of him a lot longer than you. And yet,we are posting here. Some of us have challenged him in the Broadfield too. Some of us have been victim to his name calling, bullying and insinuation too. A lot of the feedback on here about Thom has been as a direct result of him joining the thread and airing his views. Go back and read it.

"Come and have a pint you coward" is the gold in this thread, also something that I'll be shouting the next time someone cuts me up on the road.

Why on earth might I even remotely want to meet you? You have threatened to punch me! Odd odd behavior.
People are doing things. People are raising awareness of Thom and his views. That is doing something - that is pro active. That is the reason for this thread. Can you not see that?
Regards swearing - why are you so intent on ridicule of language choices but happy to accept racism and Islamophobia?
There is nothing wrong with a good bit of invective to emphasis a point.
As Stephen Fry would testify to.
“The sort of twee person who thinks swearing is in any way a sign of a lack of education or a lack of verbal interest is just a fucking lunatic.”
― Stephen Fry

Lol, it's only a joke though, come and make a massively out of your way journey to see someone you already don't like in a place you'll possibly have nowhere to stay at your own expense as that's the only possible way of rectifying things.

Rich, thanks for the post.
One of the ironies that you have missed is that this place is actually like a pub. Mostly we know each other. Coming in here and preaching is like one of us popping into the Broadfield and preaching, unintroduced, to you and your friends.
We swear a lot because we are mates joshing around and playing in our eleven year history of in jokes and culture. F and C, as you so demurely write them, are lingua Franca here for a variety of long standing reasons, mostly tongue in cheek. This place was partly born in mess(fake)enger culture for all that is good and bad about that.
Nice pub BTW. My partner grew up just off Abbeydale Road, she lived in Steade Road when I met her.

“If you speak to me in person the way you have spoken on here, i will simply punch you in the face.”
Is this “satire” or “a joke”? I’m having a bit of trouble keeping up...

I'm with Rapid Rich on this. I watched Jimmy Saville get a savaging in the press when how many of those people had actually met him? Sure some of the things he got up to IN PRIVATE with kids and the Duchess might have got a few people's hackles up but he was a really nice guy in public. He actually raised millions for charity and brought wonder and light entertainment to our tv screens. So what if a few parents are pissed off? You can't make an omelette...

All I want to do is ride my bike and laugh
Come on, be honest, you're pretty keen on making sex faces too, aren't you?

If you speak to me in person the way you have spoken on here, i will simply punch you in the face.
Well that took care of Rapid_Rich.

What's with the obsession with meeting in person? If I actually wanted to talk to a bunch of tedious, chortlebantz racists I'd go to my local Wetherspoons. Not that you could get a word in edgeways over all the braying and "look, mate"s.
If you speak to me in person the way you have spoken on here, i will simply punch you in the face.
Such nice classy ladsladslads.

I just happen to be in Sheff next month, I'm sure the claims of Thom and his pals "saying it how it is" will fall flat on their face when there's a real life brown person standing in the pub having a pint.

He likes a bit of ableism too?

Against, but that doesn't automatically set you against every Muslim in this country, or the wider world.

I hope you would agree that I have responded to your posts with engagement and courtesy?
I wonder if you could let me know how you feel about Thom's posts on here, a public forum in which he is a new member, that are anti Islamic, racist and homophobic?
One thing that has always been true of this forum, over its while history, is that we are intolerant of intolerance and bigotry. If you read through the moderator thread you will see many examples of people being banned for such behaviour.
It is those posts and public opinions that have roused this rabble. We feel they need calling out, more than any privately-airred pub time "fun" qualities of Thom.
Are you OK to leave them unchallenged? In some views, explained above, not challenging such opinions is tantamount to endorsing them.
I'd be interested to hear your views?

Easy mistake to make about our Lesbian Frolics and Gay Shenanigans Symposium.

Too late.
Ban hammer.
To be clear Rich, you just got banned for threatening violence. Nothing else.
You probably didn't mean it. But, you invited us to come to a place local to you and threatened violence.
You wouldn't shout fire in a theatre and be able to hide behind it being a joke. Same here.
It's a shame really as you seemed like someone we would have enjoyed talking with.
Next time just use frozen sausages and cock puking as your threats.

You lost me with the double negative...

The solution. I am against all the things you mention as well but recognise that not all Muslims feel this way the same as not all Irish people wanted to blow me up in the 80's.
Cunt.
