Drilled out the plastic caps (in a rage, and then re-read the service kit instructions afterwards with the note to discard them... phew), put in the new bearings and seals, locked up with new caps (metal, allen-key fixing), nice.
Good as new-ish for £20, will see how they last. These are 10 years old already so have had monies-worth.
Eggbeaters. Any ideas to get the f-n plastic end caps off (they appear to be threaded) without mangling them. Which I have almost already done. And have tried shouting at them already.
