Did it get very wet? You need to be a bit careful with those because the upper legs can corrode.
If it is air blowing past the leg seals that’s bad because means other stuff can get sucked in.

Stick the forks upside down then use the pointy end of a zip tie to make a gap between the seal and the upper leg. See what if anything comes out. Should be clean thick oil.
I’d ride them. They probably need a lowers service and new damper oil.
