With GXP the spindle is captive in the NDS bearing. There shouldn't be any horizontal slop, the nature of the design completely prevents it. Even if there is a visible gap between the DS and the cup.

From the Sram Road and track chainset manual, it states the cranks should be done up to 48-54 N·m
You are going to be unable to achieve this torque with an L shape allen key.If there is play in the
crankset, remove the crank
arms and apply additional
grease to the spindle.
Repeat the installation
procedure until play
is eliminated.
Hello everyone,
I was wondering if anyone has experience with the following issue?
I have bought an Omnium track chainset with GXP bb cups. After installing the cups, putting the spindle through, attaching the NDS crank and tightening the clamping cap, there is plenty of play in the spindle. I can see that the DS crank could be closer to the DS cup by a few mm. But the cap can't be tightened any more I think.
A chap at my LBS said to use spacers. Has anyone had luck with this method?
BTW the frame is a Dolan TC1 with standard 68mm shell.
