  • Suggestions for a outdoor rain jacket?

The coating on the inside of my Marmot is starting to shead. It's been a great jacket - excellent cost saving designs meaning budget is spent on the important bits.

However, I'm in between sizes and would like something a bit more stylish / better fitting.

Thinking about something like a Berghaus paclite. But it's a bit pricey right now.

i dont know much about geometry for this kind of bike, but would it be possible to use a "better/fun" fork? also, what is a "fun" fork?
would it be "stupid" to ride it with a rigid fork??
all of this is just for the sake of discussion, i am not gonna get this frame

  • 27.5 is the 'fun' wheelsize typically used on trailbikes and down hill bikes. Bikes with a fair chunk of travel, 130mm or more. This frame was designed for a 100mm fork. You could fit something longer but you might snap the head tube off or get weird handling effects. Depends on how the frame was constructed and the geo used.

You could run it rigid for fireroad / gravel fun.

(although yah, everything is going 29" now)

  • This isn't what you were hoping to hear:
    Replace.

  • Cheapest: 2nd hand Rab Event off eBay
    Medium: Alpkit Balance
    Spenny: Arcteryx whatever

  • Can you be married to one person and civilly partnered to another?

  • Planning ahead?

  • Can you be married to one person and civilly partnered to another?

No, section 3 of the Civil Partnership Act 2004 prohibits this

  • Not at the same time. Consecutively, no problem.

  • Cheers

Don't suppose you know how the Rab jackets size?

  • most of them are sized normally. the really burly expedition ones are cut bigger for more layers.

  • don't know if you're a medium but this is a good deal

  • Consecutively, no problem

Wonder what they will do when civil partnerships are extended to heterosexuals. The same sex marriage act allows civil partnerships to be converted into marriages, which presumably keeps everybody happy as people who got civil partnerships only because they couldn't get married can "upgrade". In the case of heterosexuals, there must be couples who got married only because they weren't allowed civil partnerships...

  • That would be a great conversation: "baby, I love you, but how do you feel about downgrading our marriage?"

  • how do you feel about downgrading our marriage?

I'm guessing that for the small number of couples affected, they would regard the conversion of a heterosexual marriage into a heterosexual civil partnership as an upgrade in the same way as the many homosexual couples who have converted from civil partnership to marriage do. I just don't know whether it will be on offer or even whether it would be possible as a simple conversion, since it involves the dissolution of a marriage which is something currently organised mainly as a revenue generating exercise for solicitors. Since the solicitors' lobby in parliament is so strong, I can't see them giving up even that small sector of potential revenue without a massive fight.

  • Cheers.

From the size chart I think I am. Just need to think if I can pull off orange I guess.

  • Eggbeaters. Any ideas to get the f-n plastic end caps off (they appear to be threaded) without mangling them. Which I have almost already done. And have tried shouting at them already.

  • Can somebody please recommend a non-google map service suitable for the following scenario -
what's needed is a map that can be shared / viewed online between numerous, say, stamp collectors. The individuals should be able to put a pin in the map with their location, add a little info in text form, and maybe a link or two.
It would be great if the map could be viewed online from any devices that can run a browser.
The option for it to be invite-only / password protected would be good to have.

    Thank you for your input!

  • This possibly http://umap.openstreetmap.fr/en/ (although seems to be in French in parts)

  • How do I write this as a formula?

T is equal to or less than 60% of G

    T = <60% x G ?

(but using the equal to or less than symbol instead of the < ... I don't have it on my keyboard)

    Cheers.

  • T ≤ 0.6G

    or failing that,

    T <= 0.6G

equal to or less than symbol

it is 'less than or equal' or 'more than or equal' and that's the order you need to put the symbols in if you need to use the two-character version.

  • Cheers for pointing the order out. The ≤ symbol was what I meant.

  • I’m building up 10spd Shimano downtube shifters with a 48/34 chainset. What rear derailleur options do I have if I want to run an 11-34t 10spd cassette? Can I use a Deore 9spd mech?
    Thanks
