Got home this evening to a flat smelling suspiciously of shit, and then being greeted by Dizzy with her back end matted with semi-dried diarrhoea. Bad enough on most cats, but pretty grim on a long-haired Coonie. Had to wait til the wife got home, then we got her into the bathroom and in the bath and showered her bum, tail and legs down with J holding her front end and reassuring her and me wearing workshop gloves and soaping the crap out of her fur. A gentle towelling got most of the water off, then a big fuss and two Dreamies and she’s under the bed for a massive grooming session.
She took it very well, she’s a big gentle thing, no biting or scratching. Hopefully she’ll be ok in the morning or it’s off to see the vet. Flat still smells of cat shit, mind.
