  • Dya think you might be interested in vaguely similarly coloured cross-check fork? I'm going to disc and can't think of a use for it...

It's got lugs, which are nice. Also mounts, which are useful.

  • Mmmmmmyah...

What were you thinking price wise?

  • No idea, it was just an errant thought! I'll have a proper think, but not much. Brand new they're just £100 odd.
I'm away on holiday for a few weeks on sat but it's not going anywhere and I can't imagine that there's much market for that coloured fork - so consider it yours if you want it

  • I can't imagine that there's much market for that coloured fork

Erm, you'd be suprised... possible 2nd dibs if f.b. doesn't take them & you'd still like to shift them & steerer is long enough (it looks uncut?).

  • Firm dibs for me then! (sorry @rhb )

Just let me know re. pickup etc. Where are you exactly in MCR?

  • I have some old pomp forks if you need? I’ve replaced with some straight salsas (steerer has been cut)

    These:

  • If anyone else is looking for a pomp fork, i have a carbon cx planet x fork!

Also, spoke to the guy who designs frames for on-one a few weeks ago- said he should either bring the pompino/Pompetamine back or do something with it to bring it up to 2018 standards (like, aluminium frame, carbon fork, disc mounts etc)

He said he'd look into it

  • aluminium

    This would be a mistake

  • Cool. I'll have a think tonight about price and whatever and will PM.

@ldphotoworks are your forks disc? Funnily enough I'm in the market...

  • Cantilever/v brake only sadly :(

  • I guess so, but it wouldn't be a bad idea to have that as a different model aswell as a steel offering.

  • Think it would be pretty awesome to have a steel frame with tapered or oversized head tube, tapered steel straight disc fork (would make upgrading to modern carbon forks easier). Track ends with mech hanger or sliding dropouts. Possibly with hidden or bolt on cable guides to keep the clean look when single speed or fixed. 3 bottle cages etc

I can't see how having two different but very similar models of SSCX frame in your lineup could be seen as good from a business point of view. If you halve the number of a particular frame you're going to order you no doubt increase price. For a stack em high sell em cheap outfit like planet x, that make no sense to them or their customers.

    Keep the steel.

  • No worries. Just don't chop the steerer, then keep me in mind if you move them on again... ;)

  • Thsnks, I has Pomp fork already but looking at something with more mounting points, my pdw takeout is more pdw onwayout these days so will need replacement soon.

  • A new Pompino is in the works from On One. This was posteed on their facebook in a list of projects currently ongoing:

16/ Classic Pompino - Slightly bigger clearance but not much to change

    Stoked!

  • Exciting , I hope they change the fork .

  • Nice. Looks like there may have been others who wrote them asking them to bring it back other than me...Hopefully it will retain the V4 geometry...

  • good stuff :D also I second what @T0mg is saying, they need a wishbone fork :D

  • great news. I was outbid for one by a quid on ebay yesterday so this news pleases me.

  • Not holding my breath for disk brakes or tapered fork based on that description. Being able to run 650b more easily would be nice, but they are missing a trick if not going disk at the least.
