if it had sinn or sommat cool on the front, dudes would be jizzing their tits

It looks 100% like a Sinn, doesn't it?!? And lol...

I kind of get what you mean, but its a passing resemblance at best. That dial is a shambles.

^, yes! What is that Sinn? I have such a soft spot for them.
My 556a never leaves my wrist. It's currently in Germany for a first service in 5 years.
Always wanted 656...

I quite like that Speedbird GMT, I’m sure the one on eBay can be easily flipped if you don’t bond with it.

Really enjoy wearing this Casio f-91w at the moment. Might change it tomorrow.

This watch belonged to my Dad. He died 28 years ago. I've never worn it but I wound it up today and it worked!
I'd like to gently restore it. The glass is covered in scratches. I don't want it to look like new just refreshed. I'd like a NATO style strap for it too.
Just wanted some opinions really.

no comments from me about restoration -but i'll comment to say i think it looks nice!

Cool, nice hands. Any markings on the back? The arrow on the dial usually signifies military issue non?

I'd like to gently restore it.
Yourself?
Gently cleaning and then polishing the glass would lift it.
Ideally though having it zonic cleaned and the glass probably polished separately would be best imo.

Very nice indeed.

Very cool - is it an acrylic crystal? If so, there's a polishing compound called polywatch that would buff out scratches, though in a pinch toothpaste works! Otherwise I'd leave it; you might want to get the movement serviced as the lubricants have possibly dried out, but other than the new strap that's perfect.

It's a bit grubby. I'd like a pro to do it tbh. Do any of you watch buffs know anywhere in Glasgow that could do it?
-
• #30316
Not sure if glass or acrylic hence wanting the pro to look at it.

Nice watch and lovely to have a link to your dad. That's a British military issue watch and you can find out more by googling the 6B... number or googling W10 watches. I'd guess it's an acrylic crystal so I would follow Thrustvector's advice on polishing it (gently - a cloth and some toothpaste. Not a dremel or it will melt!). It's a good watch so worth spending the money for a movement service. And it will be perfect on a NATO!

I'm wearing a thin Eterna today also. Not as thin as that though! This one measures 9.5mm.

Just off to bleach my eyes, thanks.
SB4 looks interesting, though I'd like the type B dial with type A hands.
