When was the delivery attempted? Sometimes, when our postman can't get access to the building, he puts the delivery card in the post and it arrives a day or two later.

For normal post I think they're not supposed to just give it to you, and have to send it out for delivery again; but as you've got a tracking number I'd give it a go. Just explain you've not had a card, but that the tracking says it's being held at the post office.

I had to pick up something that had been addressed to a forum username rather than my actual name (and plastered with "Discreet massive dildo distribution . com" all over the box, good old internet japes)
They didn't give 2 shakes of a shit, but I did have a red card. -

0% chance. If I swing by on the way home when I know somethings been left, they won't give it to you. @Thrustvector is right that it has to be re-delivered.

Had a similar situation. Went to the post office with a tracking nr and they just scheduled another delivery. Good luck!

I pick stuff up without a red card all the time. I live in a block of 6 flats so if no one answers then they can’t get in the building to post the card through my door but tracking will update to show a delivery attempt. I just take my drivers licence and say I’ve seen on the tracking that there’s something for me and they’re fine with it.
I’ve even gone there on the way home and then when I get home there is a card as the posty has gotten into the close but there’s been no one in my flat and I have a sticker on my letterbox asking them to not leave anything with neighbours as the 2 nearest me, ones an alchoholic who forgets he’s taken stuff and tends to be passed out drunk by the time I get home and ones an old lady who’s had a stroke and takes about 20 minutes to get to the door so I don’t like her having to get up for my parcel.

Thats only because they don't sort undelivered mail until late in the day so its not easy for them to put their hands on a parcel if it hasn't been resorted. That's why the red card says wait until next day before collecting...

Well, yeah, even when I've gone the day after and have forgotten it, they won't give it to me. He's had it in his hand right in front of me before and wouldn't give it to me.

Driver License works for me. It has name and address.
Hey there,
Having a bit of a nightmare receiving an item that was shipped from the US, I have found out via tracking that it is at local post office and that a delivery was attempted on Saturday and a card was left. However, no card has been left anywhere. They say on their site that they won’t give me the parcel without the card due to ;security reasons’. What do you reckon the chances are of me getting it if I take loads of id and show them the tracking number?
Cheers people
