  • Spate of finding a number of false widow spiders (confirmed by my sister, who knows her onions) in and around our house. I'm not too bothered by the little blighters, despite all the negative news coverage a little while ago. But Mrs c00ps (and grandma c00ps) aren't entirely happy. Do I get rid of them somehow (meh) or leave them be, like I have been doing (and am inclined to do)?

i.e. Does anyone have a counter-argument I can use vs unhappy spider haters?

  • Some species of False Black Widow Spiders will actually prey on Black Widow Spiders, as well as other spiders which are considered hazardous to humans. False Black Widow Spiders mainly eat crawling insects, especially isopods (sowbugs and pillbugs).

^ From the nets - my argument for not getting rid of them is that they help control other insects that may present a bigger problem.
