I see. Not the responses I expected so I probably have less excuse to go back and put my foot down now.
I was aware of the leads. I should say I've been made aware of them by the other half who has thought of all possible ways in which to make having a kitty possible. Including "taking it for days out" in one of those cat carrier bubble backpack things.
Where does one adopt a kitten/go to be adopted by a kitten?
The few times this year I've gone to cat rescues, they've just had little old boys with very particular needs.
Including one little fella who liked to sit upright on his back legs and would only eat his dinner if he was stroked while he ate and wouldn't drink any water unless it was in a different room to his food.
In terms of indoor/outdoor, I agree that its not fair to keep an animal locked up where they don't want to be so I think I could probably let go of my fear and let it out back for a wander as well as trying to drag it through the park on a lead. I'd be sleeping easier at night if the cat preferred the indoors and was content choosing in rather than out at night especially
